Evyatar most recently studied “Management of Natural Resources and Environment” at the University of Haifa.
In December 2024, he completed his master’s degree with the submission of his master’s thesis “Feasibility Analysis of Storage and Renewable Energy Ancillary Services for Grid Operations”.
During his studies, he supervised several research projects as part of his activities at Es-geht!, and will now continue his work as a project manager with a focus on energy and environmental management, business plans and the implementation of research projects.
The master’s thesis dealt with the feasibility of using renewable energy and storage systems to provide system services (SDL) in electricity grids of island states (Israel), analyzing the necessary regulatory framework and pricing mechanisms and comparing them with mature markets in Germany and California.
This approach and concept serves as a basis to derive a best practice for the improvement of grid stability, reliability and sustainability, as well as an adapted regulatory framework for the establishment of new ancillary services markets.
The study is based on the analysis of provision models for ancillary services in Germany, California and Israel, supplemented by interviews with experts from the energy sector. Regulatory and market mechanisms as well as barriers and opportunities were analyzed thematically and contextually.”
Furthermore, after interest from an energy journal and recommendation from academics, this study will be prepared as a scientific article and submitted to an energy journal.
We wholeheartedly congratulate our longtime colleague Evyatar on this impressive work!
